What is required to rent a car?

To rent a car, you will need a valid ID, a valid driver’s license, and a working payment card.

Contrary to what you might think, Toprent does not require a credit card, and reserving a car does not involve any fees until the order or rental is confirmed.

Drivers must also meet certain experience requirements (depending on the car). If the driver is under 25 years old at the time of booking, an additional “young driver” fee may apply, and the exact amount can be confirmed by a Toprent specialist at Vilnius Airport. Trakai Castle

Built in the 14th century, Trakai Castle became one of the most important residences of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. However, it was destroyed in the 17th century and was only restored in 1951. In 1962, the Island Castle of Trakai became part of the Trakai Historical Museum. Trakai is located 27 km from Vilnius, and the distance from Old Trakai to Trakai is just about 4 km. To reach Trakai by car, depart Vilnius via Savanorių Avenue and follow the road signs. Then continue along the A16 highway, which will lead you directly to the town of Trakai.

The Gediminas Tower

The Gediminas Tower is the only remaining tower of the Upper Castle. According to legend, Grand Duke Gediminas dreamed of an Iron Wolf, which foretold the founding of a great city. In 1409, Vytautas the Great built a stone castle on this site. In 1838, the first telegraph in Vilnius was installed here, and in 1918, the Lithuanian flag was raised on the tower for the first time. Since 1960, the tower has housed a museum, which became part of the Lithuanian National Museum in 1968.

Glass Quarter (Stiklo kvartalas)

This unique district was established in 2018 in the area of Stiklių, M. Antokolskio, Gaon, and Jewish streets. The community’s goal is to organize cultural routes, share stories about hidden spots and the history of Vilnius Old Town, preserve traditions, improve infrastructure, and attract investors, locals, and visitors to enjoy meaningful and cultural experiences in the area.

First of all – thank you for deciding to go on a trip with a rental car from TopRent. And we’d recommend to take some time to get acquainted with the car you will be using:

  • Check the type of fuel type: it will be stated in the contract, marked on the key fob and indicated on the cap of the fuel tank.
  • Learn how to control the headlights and parking brake, how to turn on the radio.
  • Adjust seats, mirrors, steering wheel position.
  • You can take photos of the car before picking it up and once again before returning it, so that at the end of the car rental period there are no misunderstandings about the condition of the rented car.
